ABOUT US
SALAS was established in 2004 as a premier association for the community of technicians, scientists, administrators, and veterinarians involved in the field of laboratory animal research and education. SALAS works actively with academic and industry partners to organize events, meetings, and conferences to support this growing community in Singapore. SALAS has also established links with regional and international laboratory associations to promote collaboration and awareness of recent developments in the field of laboratory animals.
Objectives
- To advance responsible care and use of laboratory animals.
- To serve as a premier forum in Singapore for the exchange of information and expertise in the care and use of laboratory animals.
- To support the biomedical science industry in Singapore through professional education and practical training.
- To promote compliance with the NACLAR Guidelines (National Advisory Committee for Laboratory Animal Research) and AVA regulations pertaining to animals.
- To train the staff of biomedical research and teaching institutions in Singapore.
- To provide an interface between those involved in laboratory animal science and providers of specialist equipment and services.
