To ensure that health products meant for human use and consumption are safe, pre-clinical studies or toxicological assessment need to be conducted to evaluate the potential toxic effects. This involves the use of laboratory animals such as rodents, rabbits and primates. Most often ani-mals used need to be necropsied and samples taken for histopathology. This workshop aims to disseminate information about the pathology of laboratory rodents used in pre-clinical tests or toxi-cological assessment. For the course, experts from the United States and United Kingdom have been invited to give lectures as well as conduct discussions on various topics.
